18
Q

interscalene landmark

A

mark the sternal and clavicular heads of the SCM, cricoid cartilage and clavicle. Needle goes in interscalene groove at C6 posterior to calvicular head of the SCM and between An and Mid scalene

19
Q

Infraclavicular landmark

A

coracoid process, needle insertion 2cm inferior and 2cm medial to coracoid

20
Q

axillary

A

pulse of axillary artery, guide needle through artery and aspirate, go further (past the artery is radial) when you pull back it is median and ulnar

21
Q

musculocutaenous

A

belly of coracobrachialis muscle, posterior to biceps

22
Q

ulnar block

A

at elbow, between medial epicondyle and olecranon process, medial to ulnar artery

23
Q

radial block

A

at elbow between brachioradialis and biceps,

24
Q

median block

A

at elbow medial to brachial artery at pronator teres

25
Q

femoral block

A

below inguinal ligament, lateral to fem artery at crease

26
Q

sciatic block

A

classic posterior: line between greater trochanter aand PSIS, 4cm distal to midpoint
parasacral: line drawn between ischial tuberosity and PSIS, needle 6cm caudal to PSIS on line
subgluteal: greater trochanter and ischial tuberosity, 4cm caudal to midpoint

27
Q

Popliteal block

A

posterior: popliteal fossa crease, lateral biceps femoris medial semitendinosus/membranosus, needle 8cm superior to crease at midpoint
lateral: vastus lateralis, biceps femoris and popliteal crease, needle 8cm above popliteal crease in groove

28
Q

ankle block

A

saphenous - distal extremis of femoral nerve, medial surfac of tibial tuberosity at dorsomedial aspect of upper calf or at medial malleolus
deep peroneal - lateral to extensor hallucis longus tendon at 1-2 digit webspace
superficial peroneal - lateral to extensor digitorum longus tendon
posterior tibial - posterior to posterior tibial artery
sural - lateral malleolus posterior

28
Q

lumbar plexus block

A

spinous process, needle 4cm lateral to midline at level of crest

29
Q

IJV placement

A

between sternal and clavicular heads of SCM, lateral to carotid

30
Q

femoral vein placement

A

medial to artery at crease

31
Q

subclavian vein placement

A

midpoint of clavicle with needle directed toward suprasternal notch

32
Q

trachea landmarks

A

begings at C6, C-shaped cartilaginous rings that are lateral and anterior, posterior trachea is longitudinal muscular layer

33
Q

first carina landmark

A

T5

34
Q

thoracic duct landmark

A

left side, C7, empties into jxn of the left subclav and left IJV below clavicle

35
Q

cricothyroid membrane, cric landmark

A

incision through skin, cric membran between cric and thyroid cartilage, c6

36
Q

C shaped (forms circle with skull) hematoma

A

epidural

37
Q

moon shaped, follows shape of skull hematoma

A

subdural

38
Q

external branch of SLN innervates what

A

cricothyroid muscle, motor nerve

39
Q

internal branch of SLN innervates what

A

sensory to larynx above vocal cords

40
Q

recurrent laryngeal

A

mixed sensory and motor, sensory innervatino to upper trachea and innervates all intrinsic laryngeal muscles except cricothyroid
