A
- Sensory and motor fibres of V3
- Two main branches, anterior and posterior trunk
- anterior trunk: buccal nerve –> lower molars, gingiva, periosteum and skin of the cheek

Q
What is the sensation of the scalp and head?
A
Trigeminal nerve:
V1: Supraorbital nerve (forehead, anterior scalp and top of head), supratrochlear (forehead and anterior part of scalp)
V2: Zygomaticotemperoal nerve (small area of forehead and temporal area)
V3: auriculotemporal nerve (temporal area)
C2/C3 nerve root:
Lesser occipital nerve (lateral scalp behind ear)
Greater occipital nerve (posterior scalp)
Greater auricular nerve (parotid gland, mastoid process and auricle)
