A
Area of association cortex related to understanding what we hear

What are EEGs?
A
Electroencephalographs. Extra cerebral recordings averaging all the activity going on in the brain.

What is PET?
A
Positron Emission Tomography. Short lived (radioactive) isotope emits positron, annihilated when hits an electrons. Two photos emitted in opposite directions are detected.

What is a SQUID?
A
Supercooled, quantum interference devices. Pick up minute magnetic fields cell activity creates.

What is the mechanism of action of an fMRI?
A
Measure blood flow by targeting protons in hydroxyl groups. Areas of high flow = areas of high activity.
