They envisaged a ‘state of nature’. There was a society before the modern day capatilist society.
Why is historical nature important to anarchists?
They feel human have had their character corrupted by nature of society especially GOVERNMENT. Going back to the primal ways would fix it.

- People are self interested and egotistical
- People are born without basic nature (Tabula Rasa - A blank surface written on by society) Environmnetally determined
