Analysis Techniques Flashcards
T-test
One sample: value of metric variable
Paired Sample: difference in 2 metric variables
Independent sample: difference in 1 metric variable for two seperate groups
ANOVA
Difference in metric variables between 3 or more groups
Chi-Square
Relationship between two nonmetric
Regression
Effect of metric and non metric independent variables on metric dependent variable
Why do we use a paired sample t-test
To compare the mean of two metric variables
Why do we use a chi-square analysis
To look at the association of two nonmetric variables 1 and 2
Interpreting output
If significance is >0.5 no significant different STOP
If <0.05 significant difference then interpret
Inter One sample t test
average is difference from test value
Inter Paired- sample t-test
Average for one variable is higher than other variable
Inter Independent sample t-test
Average for one group is higher than for the other group
ANOVA
Average differs between 3 or more groups
Chi-square
Link between variables
