Analysis Flashcards
What to include in answer?
-If SD bars- don’t overlap overlap? = significant difference, not likely due to chance
-Is it investigates in humans?
-is sample size large enough- representative?
-has a statistical test been performed to determine significance?
-are long term effects known?
-is time period long enough?
-is there control group?
Evaluate method points to look for?
-sample size
-repeats
-control variables- sex, age, previous health conditions
-control experiment
-bias (blind trial)
-duration of experiment
Evaluate data points to look for?
-Always state overall trend e.g +ve correlation
-is there any overlap in data?
-is the test group result different from the control group?
-if there a statistic, if so what does it show?
-if not, don’t know if significant
What does evaluate the conclusion mean?
Consider method and data to come to judgement
-use ALL information
Describe the graph questions
Say what you see
Must include data
(Between points)
Use graph to explain
Why pattern exists- apply knowledge
Conclude
Say what experiment and graph tells you
