Allopurinol is a common uric acid inhibitor. What conditions does this medication treat?
Prevents gout
Does not help with acute attacks. Take NSAIDs or Colchicine for acute flares
Allopurinol + aspirin = ⬆️ in uric acid levels
Stop allopurinol if rash occurs, this may indicate a hypersensitivity reaction. What is the name of this rash?
Stevens-Johnson syndrome

G: gulp a lot of fluid during the day and take medication with glass of water
O: no organ meats
U: urine output up to 2L/day
T: takes several months to take affect
