Kapadia is even able to make use of foreshadowing even when there wasn’t any, etc the opeing highlighting how Amy can Sing, the back to black song also highlights her death.

The film makes use of Amy’s songs, only one song is composed just for this film. Her songs are expertly used throughout the film, the back to black scene is able to forshadow her death, the rehab song is given a new meaning when it turns out the lyrics are literal, which is exposed in the film.
