what is amitosis?
A
asexual method of reproduction, discovered by Remak. also called direct cell division.

where does amitosis occur
A
1) bacteria - protozoa, amoeba, protozoa nad paramecium
2) foetal membrane, disease cells, mammalian cartilage and old cells

explain the process of amitosis.
A
1) cell elongates
2)constriction in the nucleus and then divides into 2 daughter nuclei
30 constriction in the cytoplasm, then divides into two daughter cell along with nuclei

how is amitosis different?
A
1) no spindle formation
2) np distinct chromosome formation
3) nuclear membrane remains intact
4) the daughter cells are approximately two halves of the parent cell
