gurantee of person liberty- freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of assembly, freedom to petition the government
amendment 2
right to keep and bear arms- protect the rights of citizens to own and carry firearms
amendment 3
prohibition against the quartering of troops- the forceful quartering of soldiers during peacetime is prohibited, same goes for wartime, but that can change through Congress
amendment 4
prohibition against unreasonable searches and seizures- warrant or order must be issued by a court to authorize a search or seizure
amendment 5
rights of the accused- no person can be held for a serious crime without indictment by a grand jury
amendment 6
right to a speedy and fair trial- all persons accused of a crime are guaranteed…

right to trial by jury- you cannot be brought back after a verdict for another trial for the same crime

- a vacancy in the representation of any state in the Senate may be filled in one of two ways..
1. the state governor may call a special election to fill the vacancy
2. the state legislature may authorize the governor to make a temporary appointment
