Q
What is the treatment for ALS
A
Although treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) remains largely supportive, the glutamate release blocker riluzole may increase survival by 3 months, and the intravenous free radical scavenger edaravone has been shown to slow functional decline within a 6-month period; both drugs have received FDA approval for use in ALS.
