What is an alloy
A
It is a metal that is a mixture of two or more pure metals with other elements e.g.Iron + carbon = steel

Why are alloys produced
A
So they can make a metal with special properties not otherwise available in a single metal

Properties of stainless steel
A
Contains iron, carbon, chrome and nickel. They react with the air to form a very thin stable film which makes it resistance to corrosion.
