How do you add fractions?

A

By finding a common denominator. An easy way to do this is:
1st) Multiply denominator of fraction 1 by numerator and denominator of fraction 2, creating a new fraction
2nd) Repeat for fraction 2

Using FOIL
First - first terms in each bracket

Outer - terms on far left and far right of both brackets

Inner
(/ + X) (X + /)

Last - Last terms in each bracket
(/ + X) (/ + X)
