90% by liver
10% by lungs, skin, urine

Liver enzymes are not fully developed
Slows down alcohol elimination
Relies on mothers capacity to eliminate alcohol
What does alcohol foetal syndrome severity depend on?
Mother’s drinking behaviour
Malnutrition- mother’s eating less while drinking
What is the treatment of pregnant alcoholic women?
No simple answer
Surrounding her with people who influences her behaviour and drinking behaviour
