Summarise the biological effects of alcohol
Alcohol is a source of energy that converts into fat. it is a central nervous system depressant and diuretic, which retains water therefore less ADH hormone and more water is lost. Alcohol turns the bodies pH more acidic and disrupts liver metabolic processes.
Adverse effects associated with alcohol?
- Impaired brain function resulting in poor judgement, reduced reaction time, motor skills and balance
- Increases risk of certain cancers, stroke and liver disease
Adverse health effects associated with beer?
- Higher instances of gout
- Found to deplete vitamin C levels

It is a natural polyphenolic compound that exists in grapes, peanuts and berries.
