How can alcohols be oxidised and what is produced as a result
A
It gains oxygen via an oxygen agent
And produces a carboxylic acid
E.g.
Ethanol can be heated and have potassium dichromate sulphuric acid added to it and produce ethanoic acid
There will be a colour change from orange to green

What happens when alcohol is burnt
A
It is oxidised and they undergo complete combustion
Producing carbon dioxide and water as a result of
E.g.
E thanol + oxygen = carbon dioxide + water
