Parameters of AKI 1
Creatinine 1.5–1.9 times baseline
OR ≥ 26.5 μmol/l increase
Urine output <0.5 ml/kg/h for 6–12 hours

Creatinine 2.0–2.9 times baseline
Urine output <0.5 ml/kg/h for ≥12 hours
Parameters for AKI 3
Creatinine 3.0 times baseline
OR Increase to ≥354 μmol/l (and above)
Initiation of renal replacement therapy

What are pre renal causes
Things like hyper tension and heart failure
Anything before the kidney affecting it
What are intrinsic causes of AKI
Issues with the kidney itself or problems causes by drugs it secretes
What are post renal causes of AKI
Anything causing obstruction of urethral tract
When should patients of Kidney affecting drugs not take them
On sick days
Vomiting or diarrhoea
Fever
This due to extra stress on the kidney
What positive test would make you want to get a kidney biopsy
Blood and/or protein dip stick
