Q

FIR

A
Flight information center
Contain all the airspace within a state
It is the basic unit of airspace, and include the most basic ATS:
- FIS
- Alerting service
It has Boundaries

CTA

A
  • Control area Airspace where ATC provide controlled flight which are enroute
  • Area control is estabilished in the vicinity of areodromes
  • airways
    Highest
    VFR flight level
    lowest
    at least 700’ AGL
    Subdivided
lower level : traffic entering ot leaving manouvering airspace: routing traffic to IAF and separating departing traffic
    • upper level en route traffic

CTR

A

Control zone

  • Estabilished in the vicinity of areodromes to provide ATC to dep/arriv traffic
  • ATC provided by approach control is mandatory
  • up limit -> VFR flight level
  • base -> MSL
  • big enough to provide the service
  • it extend 5 NM from aredrome to referenc epoint
  • if within lateral CTS limit, it need to beextend upwaed the lower limit of CTA

Q

UIR

A

Upper information region, it appears when there is a vertical division in the airspace.
make it easier the application of rules and separations
En route traffic
division between FIR and AUR
top fl195
lower a VFR fly level

CAS

A

is a Control Aread and zone
- Air traffic control is only provide inside this zone
upper limit FL
CAS comprises CTA and CTR so they can facilitate ATC with IFR

17
Q

RNP

A

Require navigation performance
numerical rapresentation of the accurancy
95% of containment factor
state is responsible for specyfing RNP values
prescribes as RAN

18
Q

RNP Factor

A

accurancy
RNP4 implies that a/c is gona be plotted in 4 NM 95% of the time from his plotted position
different value different accurancy
all ATS airspace are RNP

19
Q

Airways

A
corridor linkinf CTAs
evolved by th demand
traffic in cruise 1st priority
upper limit -> lower limi of UIR
lower limit dictate by airsoace restriction and terrain advoidance
20
Q

type of airways

A
Non RNAV
 VOR to VOR
RNAV
waypoint to waypoint based on VOR/DME
regional
route that exist between states in one icao region
non regional
route that don't extend outside the contry border
21
Q

other ATS route

A

SID
STAR
low helicopter
each route with a specific designator

22

designator define the type of runway

number additional unfo about the type
