What defines a class B aircraft?
Propeller aircraft with MOPSC 9 or less AND MTOW of 5700kgs or less
What is a class c aircraft?
Propeller aircraft with a MOPSC of more than 9 and a MTOW of more than 5700kgs
What is a class a aircraft?
All jet aircraft and any multie engine aircraft which are turbo propeller driver, have a MOPSC of more than 9 OR a MTOW of 5700kgs
What is the service ceiling for a prop?
100fpm
What is the minimum Vref for a class b aircraft?
1.3 Vso
For a class B aircraft when does takeoff begin and end?
BRP to 50ft screen height
For a class B aircraft when does the climb phase begin and end?
50ft to 1500ft AGL
For a class B aircraft when does the landing phase begin and end?
50ft to full stop
What is the min AEO enroute climb gradient for a class B aircraft?
300fpm
What is the safety factor for takeoff on wet and dry grass respectively?
Wet = x1.3 Dry = x1.2
What is the safety factor for landing on wet and dry grass respectively?
Wet = x1.35 Dry = x1.15
What is the safety factor for landing on a wet paved surface?

Speed for best angle of climb
Where does Vx occur?
The speed corresponding to the greatest excess thrust
What is Vy?
The speed at which an aircraft achieves its max rate of climb
Where does Vy occur?
The speed where the difference between the power available and power required is greatest
When a stopway or clearway is not available what must be less than or equal to the TORA (class b)?
TODR x 1.25
When a stopway and/or a clearway is available what are the safety factor requirements?
The TODR must not exceed the following:
- TORA
- when multiplied by 1.15 the TODA
- when multiplied by 1.3 the ASDA
What are the takeoff safety factors for runway slope?
Increased by 5% per degree of upslope up to 2% upslope
Downslope is ignored
