The crew is alerted by a flashing EGT digital display.
How should fuel be distributed on the B737?
Wings tanks loaded FIRST until full. Centre tank is then filled.
Note: Wing Tanks must be full if Centre Wing Tank fuel contains more than 453 kg of fuel.
When is the aircraft considered in trim and stabilised?
When the thrust and pitch have been set, and the pitch is trimmed with no further trim movement needed to maintain the pitch setting. This is not an instantaneous process, and must be complete before comparing indicated and expected airspeeds for accurate results.
If an unreliable airspeed event occurs during takeoff at or after V1, what actions are to be carried out?
Set 15º pitch attitude, retract the landing gear, and maintain flap configuration. Climb at 15º pitch attitude until reaching acceleration height. At acceleration height, do the Airspeed Unreliable NNC memory items and checklist.
How long should it normally take for the engines to stabilised during the takeoff roll, before pressing TO/GA?
2 seconds.
If the N1 overshoots during the take off, what should the PM do?
Nothing. The thrust setting should remain unchanged until passing 400 ft, with the IAS stable, the PM may reduce N1.
When should an engine start be aborted?
- N1 or N2 increases very slowly after the EGT increases.
- No oil pressure indication by the time that the engine is stable at idle
- EGT does not increase by 10 seconds (CL), 15 seconds (NG) after the engine start lever is moved to IDLE
- EGT quickly nears or exceeds the start limit
