RPT IFR Flight requires

A
  • Autopilot approved by CASA. Must control the pitch and roll axis, with heading and altitude hold. Unless:
  • Fitted with fully functional dual controls, and
  • 2 control seats, with one seat occupied by the PIC and the other by a qualified pilot.
  • Above 5700kg require windshield clear vision equipment to allow uninterrupted vision during take-off and landing.
  • Flight data recorder and Cockpit voice recorder. Operated continuously from taxi under the aircrafts own power to completion of taxi. And voice recorder from first checklist to last checklist. FDR or CVR many be inoperative for 21 days.
  • Pressurised turbine aircraft must have an Altitude alerting system.
  • Turbine aircraft above 15000kg and more than 10pax must have a GPWS with terrain hazard warning function. May be U/S for up to 24hrs but must not depart an airport where it can be fixed.

Instruments required

A

o Airspeed indicating system with anti-ice.
o Pressure altimeter x2
o Direct reading magnetic compass.

o Timepiece with hrs, mins, secs.

o Vertical speed indicator.

o OAT o Attitude indicator x3 o Heading indicator o Turn and slip o Machmeter

3 rd attitude indicator must be separately powered, powered for 30mins after complete electrical failure

The airspeed indicator, pressure indicators, VSI, and Machmeter must be able to be connected to 2 static sources but not both simultaneously, or operated on different sources simultaneously.

The attitude indicators, heading indicator, and turn and slip must have duplicate sources of power.
