What is trim air?
Trim air add specific amounts of bleed air to any zone so that the temperature of each zone may be independently warmed

- Automatic and manual selection of pack controller A or B enabled
Trim air Switch OFF
- Master trim air valve is closed

- Cabin temp panel control of Crew rest and upper deck zones inhibited
- Pack controller A is selected and both automatic and manual selection of controller B is inhibited unless pack controler A fails which automatic selection of controller B occurs
Main deck temp selectors in AUTO

- Rage is 40F (4C) to 85F (29C)
Forward lower lobe temp selector MAN
- Controlled Manually when selected in 6 o’clock position and lower lobe cargo conditioned air flow rate selector in FWD HIGH, BOTH LOW or FWD LOW

Aft lower lobe temp selector Auto
- Provides automatic control when lower lobe cargo conditioned air flow rate selector in FWD HIGH, BOTH LOW or FWD LOW
- Rage is 40F (4C) to 85F (29C)
Aft lower lobe temp selector MAN
- Controlled Manually when selected in 6 o’clock position and lower lobe cargo conditioned air flow rate selector in FWD HIGH, BOTH LOW or FWD LOW
- Resets forward lower lobe cargo conditioned air supply duct shut off valve if closed by duct overheat
Equipment Cooling Selector STBY
- Ground exhaust valve is closed
- Automatic control bypassed to configure system for flight: inboard exhaust valve open
- With a single internal fault, equipment inboard exhaust valve closes and cooling system reconfigures to allow internal closed loop recirculation of cooling air
Equipment cooling selector NORM ground operation is based on what
- Ambient temp, position of lower lobe cargo conditioned air flow rate selector, temperature selected by the forward lower lobe cargo temp selector
- Equipment cooling air is either thrown overboard or exhausted into forward cargo compartment
Equipment cooling selector NORM with two or more engines running and lower lobe cargo conditioned air flow rate selector in OFF, AFT LOW or AFT HIGH, cooling air is…
exhausted into forward cargo compartment and ground exhaust valve is closed
Equipment cooling selector NORM with two or more engines running and lower lobe cargo conditioned air flow rate selector in FWD LOW, BOTH LOW or, FWD HIGH and forward lower lobe cargo temp selected is less than 50F (10C)…
inboard exhaust valve is closed and equipment cooling air recirculated in a closed loop mode
Equipment cooling selector NORM and a single internal fault…
Equipment inboard exhaust valve closes and cooling system configured to allow internal closed loop recirculation
Equipment cooling selector OVRD
- Inboard exhaust valve closed
- Ground exhaust valve closed
- equipment supply valve closed : cooling air supplied through flight panels
- Smoke/ override valve open: differential pressure exhausts cooling air overboard
