What are air masses?
Bodies of air which usually a rather unifor, temperature and humidity due to where they originated from.
What are maritime air masses?
Air from the sea.
What are continental air masses?
Air from land.
What is a tropical air mass?
A hotter air mass.
Where do tropical air masses usually land?
South-West
What are polar air masses?
More chilly air masses (however the arctic maritime is not a polar air mass.
What is an arctic maritime?
An air mass coming in North.
What are the features of the Tropical Maritime and where it originated from?
More dull, wet and less extreme - dense lower clouds, fog at sea and drizzle. Originated in tropics and sub tropics, cooled over Atlantic.
What is polar maritime?
Usually from Greenland and Arctic Canada. Heats along the way from lower down creating instability. Effects: cumulus clouds and cumulonimbus clouds, frequent rain, thunder, hail and the like, in the winter: sleet and snow., cold sunshine in between.
