ROLE of the CAS

Exercise command of Air Command in accordance with CF Operational Orders and as directed by the CDS
Generate and maintain operationally ready air forces
Provide advice on Air Force matters affecting national security and defence and the CF
Provide inputs to develop force structure options, plans and tasking for CF operations
Provide AETE with advice and direction on flight safety, flying standards and procedures and aircraft maintenance standards on behalf of ADM (Mat)
