Air Conditioning & Press Flashcards
What stage is air taken from?
5th stage low pressure area
If demand is high 9th stage high pressure is used
Engine bleed air is used for?
- air conditioning
- pressurisation
- eng/wing anti ice
- engine starting
- hydraulic tank pressurisation
- water tank pressurisation
What will cause the bleed air valve to close? (Bleed Trip Off)
Over pressure or temperature
Where is duct pressure measured?
After the bleed air valve and before the pack valve
What does the isolation valve do?
Separates the two sides of the Bleed air system
What position is isolation valve in when Auto selected?
With bleeds on it is closed.
If one bleed is off it opens.
What controls cabin pressurisation?
Outflow valve
How many controllers are there for the outflow valve?
2 Auto (1 primary, 1 backup) and 1 Manual (slower uses DC power)
When does pressurisation begin?
Once throttles are advanced for takeoff
When cruising below FL180 what cabin altitude will we get?
Same as land altitude
What do the Packs do?
Cool and condition bleed air
Air from the left pack goes where?
Straight to the flight deck, excess goes to the mix manifold
Air from the right pack goes where?
Straight to the mix manifold. Then goes thru the trim air system and into forward and aft cabins
