What is bilateral aid?
Aid given from one body to another
What is multilateral aid?
A number of governments contribute to one body that then redistributes the wealth from all countries to another when in need
What is Non-Governmental aid?
Donations from charities or one individual
What are the four delivery types of AID?
Long-term
Short-term
Top-down
Bottom-up
What is long term AID?
A financial investment into an area of infrastructure such as energy or healthcare
What is top-down aid?
A responsible body receives investment that it uses for a single project
What is bottom-up aid?
Usually Non governmental organisations work with local communities and areas to meet their specific demands
What is short-term aid?
Usually disaster relief from a natural disaster of conflict
What are the possible limitations or disadvantages to giving AID upon the receiving country?
1) Not always suitable if the infrastructure is not in place
2) May not reach the area where it is needed due to corruption
3) Particularly bilateral aid, it may be tied and create more problems
4) Country may not be able to pay it back
5) Aid dependancy that leads to increased debt
