Myth or fact: cancer mortaility is higher in women than men.
Myth! The opposite is true - men’s mortaility is 30-50% higher.
Myth or fact: heart disease is more prevalent at any age in men than in women.
Myth! Death rates from CV disease are roughly the same in men and women over 60, though death rates for older women are going to outnumber the death rates for older men because older women outnumber older men in general.
Myth or fact: dementia incidence rates are higher in men than in women.
Myth! They don’t differ much between men and women, though there are more women living with dementia because older women outnumber older men in general.
Myth or fact: depression is more common in women than in men.
Fact. Though it is not understood why this is (ie, women more likely to seek healthcare for mental problems? Doctors more readily diagnose them in women?)

Myth! The reverse is true, though men are more likely to be treated with surgical intervention for osteoarthritis than women.
