How does the social approach present aggression?
A
- Men are allowed to be assertive and aggressive, women are not
- Eg ->
• Man gets a promotion- he worked for it.
• Woman gets a promotion- who did she sleep work for it?

- Male characters in children’s films are more aggressive
- Could this make children believe the gendered behavioural expectations?
- Could this end in self fulfilling prophecy?

- white females (feeble, damsel)

- black females (angry, aggressive)

A
- A confederate walked into male ppts and insulted them, this was just thought of as strange
- Those from southern states were more likely to judge that their masculinity had been threatened

A
- Not everyone holds gender stereotypes
- It ignores other factors such as the role of testosterone in male aggression
