What is the general treatment for H pylori?
Combination therapy of at least 2 antibiotics + PPI
What is the triple therapy for H pylori?
14 day treatment
Only for low clarithromycin resistance areas (<15%) and no prior exposure to clarithromycin

-Amoxicillin or Metronidazole (if anaphylactic allergy to amoxicillin)
What is quadruple therapy for H pylori?
PPI twice daily dosing, other agents 4x daily
-PPI (prazole)
Metronidazole
-Amoxicillin (tetracycline for PCN allergy)
-Bismuth subsalicylate (can substitute clarithromycin for bismuth; can substitute levofloxacin for failed eradication)
What should be considered for complete healing of ulcers due to H pylori?
Consider PPI continuation therapy for several weeks after 10-14 day H pylori combination therapy
Which antibiotics are used to treat C diff?
Oral vancomycin only IV metronidazole (for severe disease + oral vancomycin)
Which abx should be used to treat campylobacter jejuni?
Azithromycin
Which abx should be used to treat salmonella?
Cirpoflaxacin/Levofloxacin
Which abx should be used to treat shigella?
Ciprofloxacin/Levofloxacin
What are the anithelmintic agents?
Benzimidazoles(albendazole and mebendazole)

Paromomycin
