South Coast Air Quality Management District
(SCAQMD)
Formed in 1976, is the air pollution agency responsible for regulating stationary sources of air pollution in the South Coast Air Basin, in Southern California.
SCAQMD requires any equipment that emits pollutants into the atmosphere obtain permit from the district, and puts limits on VOC contents of building components such as paints, and sealants.
