Decreased sebaceous glands.
Wrinkling.
Decline in body’s ability to cool itself.
What is the name of the rule that measures burn surfaces affected?
The rule of nines.
What is a first degree burn?
A superficial burn that affects only the epidermis.
What is a second degree burn?
A burn that is deeper and effecting both the epidermis and a portion of the dermis.
What is a third degree burn?
A burn that fully extends into the epidermis and dermis destroying tissue and affecting the nerve endings and sensory function.
What is a fourth degree burn?
A burn that extends through the epidermis and dermis reaching to underlying muscle and bone.
What is melanoma?
Cancer characterized by the uncontrolled growth of melanocytes and usually develops in a mole.
