The Boer War was when Dutch settlers known as Boers fought back against British claims on land in Africa. Gold was discovered there and the Boers refused to give the land up to anyone. Boers were outnumbered so they used guerrilla tactics. This caused the British to take Women and children captive and most of them died in camps. In the end the British won.
