Using children is unethical as they were misled so it could cause distress. However it could be argued that the task was no more stressful than everyday life and the experimenter has given insight as to how accurate the EWT of children are

therefore children may have been able to accurately recall information from the demonstration but were responding in a way they thought the researcher wanted them to therefore was measuring attention of children when they were asked the questions and not the effect of misleading information
