After Start Flashcards
ENG MODE selector:
NORM.
After a shutdown period greater than 2 hours, to avoid thermal shock:
Operate the engine at idle or near idle for at least 5 minutes.
On the A320 the last engine started must run for at least 2 minutes before takeoff initiation, to ensure that the Centre tank pumps test is finished.
Takeoff on the Centre tank is prohibited.
APU BLEED:
OFF.
- Avoids ingestion of engine exhaust gases.
- The ENG BLEED valves open.
ENG ANTI ICE pb-sw:
AS REQD.
WING ANTI ICE pb-sw:
AS REQD.
If the APU is not require:
APU MASTER SW OFF.
GROUND SPOILERS:
ARM.
RUDDER TRIM:
CHECK ZERO.
If not at zero press the reset pb.
FLAPS:
- Set for takeoff.
- Check position against that on the ECAM upper display.
PITCH TRIM:
SET.
STATUS REMINDER:
CHECK NOT DISPLAYED.
-If STS reminder is displayed:
STS pb PRESS to review ECAM status.
N/W STEER DISC MEMO:
CHECK NOT DISPLAYED.
GROUND CREW:
CLEAR TO DISCONNECT ANNOUNCE.
The ground crew:
- Remove the chocks
- Remove the NWS bypass pin
- Disconnects the interphone
- Makes the hand signal on the left or right side.
When th engines have started, the PF sets the ENG MODE selector to NORM to permit:
Normal pack operation.
