Affecting Hemostasis Flashcards
Heparin
anticoagulant, Affects Factor Xa and Thrombin II in the clotting cascade pathway, aTP test must be 2-3x greater than normal
LWHS (Enoxaparin)
anticoagulant, Affects only factor Xa, doesn’t need a lab test
Warfarin (Coumadin)
anticoagulant, Vitamin K antagonist, frequent lab test INR must be great than 1.5-2x greater than normal
Aceylsalicylic acid
antiplatelet, Inhibits COX 1 and COX 2 resulting in an inactivation of platlets
Dabigatran+Rivaroxaban
anticoagulent, work directly on thrombin or factor 10
Clopidogrel
antiplatelet, for antithrombotic effects, irreversible ADP receptor blocker
recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (Alteplase)
replication of our physiological tPA -> breaks down clots
