Euthymia
Normal range of mood.
Depression
Mental state characterized by sadness, loneliness, low self esteem.
Anhedonta
Loss of interest in, and withdrawal from, all regular & pleasurable activities often associated with depression.
Apathy
Dulled emotional tone associated with detachment or indifference
observed in certain types of schizophrenia & depression.
Manta
Mood state characterized by elation, agitation, hyperactivity, hip sexuality & accelerated thinking & speaking (flight of ideas)
Alogia
Poverty of thoughts as usserved by absence of spontaneous speech (decreased thought and speech)
Euphoria.
Exaggerated feeling of well-being.
Dysphasia
Feeling of unpleasantness / discomfort
Mobile mood
Pendulum, seen in bipolar disorder. Oscillation between euphoria & depression anxiety.
Ambivalence
Coexistence of 2 opposing impulses toward the same thing. conflicting reactions to same object.
Bereavement
Feeling of grief especially death of loved one.
Globus hystericus
Sensation of a lump in the throat occurring without Oe structure problem/motility problem.
Normally a symptom of anxiety & somatisation disorders.
Affect can be described
Normal range, appropriate, restricted, blunted, flat, liability, congruent with mood.
