Aerodrome And Enroute Operating Minima Flashcards
Aerodrome operating minima.
If conflict exists between published operational and company produced operational info, then:
The company always has the overriding authority.
Aerodrome operating minima.
PIC can apply higher minima:
In the interests of safety.
Aerodrome operating minima.
The PIC shall not plan a light to:
An airport without a serviceable instrument approach.
Aircraft categorisation:
CAT D unless specified otherwise on the port page or company NOTAMS.
Chart conventions.
Takeoff minima:
Airport charts OMC.
Chart conventions.
Landing minima:
Instrument approach charts FOP OMC.
Charted visibility/RVR:
Minima is shown as km for visibility and metres for RVR.
If values are the same, only one figure is published.
Charted conventions.
Factoring:
Factoring of RVR is only allowed at the pre flight planning stage to obtain an equivalent RVR.
Decision height/Minimum descent height:
Table in OMA.
Circling approach minima:
- 1000ft AAL, 5000m vis.
- No minimum cloud ceiling.
- Use the higher of this minima or chart minima.
- PANS OPS, FAA TERPS, Japan TERPS.
How is circling minima calculated?
Using a radius centred on runway thresholds.
PANS OPS Circling:
AD elevation 1000ft=5.28nm
Obstacle clearance 394ft.
Japan TERPS Circling minima:
All MDA=2.5nm
Obstacle clearance 300ft.
At ports where circling is not in accordance with PANS OPS, there will be:
An entry in the port page “ARRIVALS:FIR RESTRICTIONS”.
In strong wind conditions it may not be possible to:
Remain within TERPS or Japan TERPS protected areas.
