aerobic respiration Flashcards
purpose of glycolysis
break down glucose into pyruvate
purpose of krebs cycle
Pyruvates enter mitochondria and are broken down, CO2 is formed and released, NAD collects electrons and H+ ions
purpose of the electron transport chain
Electrons from NADH and FADH2 are brought to the inner membranes of the mitochondria, then successively transferred from one cytochrome to another and are finally accepted by oxygen.
