it is training which is at a steady pace and moderate intensity to develop aerobic cardiovascular endurance it continues with no brakes for 30 mins without stopping.continuous training should be performed at the correct training zone.
sports that are used
swimming,cycling,running,triathlons,team sports
advantages
they will develop over time and will be able to do it.little to no equipment,easy to organise and can be made for specific and good for building aerobic and muscular endurance.
disadvantages
injury,can be boring,develops aerobic endurance but no anaerobic endurance.
fartlek
fartlek training is when the intensity of training is varied by running at different speeds or over different terrains and is continuous with no rests as there is no rests the change of intensity acts as the recovery can increase this by using a weighted vest or a harness.
sports which are used
rugby,swimming,football,cycling,long distance running.
advantage
can be made sport specific which is easy to organise and to carry out.performers can control intensity of training.
disadvantage
need to monitor intensity to make sure performers are training hard enough.performers need good self discipline to maintain intensity and not rest.
