Who should assit the LCC in proper placement of apparatus before carrying out duties ?
OVM
Placement of aerial lAdder is dependent on four conditions
- Whether immediate rescue is apparent
- Where no immediate rescue . The size of the frontage of the building I be covered in case if future need
- Smoke , heat or fire causing an exposure that would endanger a victim a member or the ladder
- Area or street conditions that might hamper optimum positioning
Aerial shall be placed how many feet from building for a good climbing angle
25 to 35 feet
There are two methods of lining up the aerial ladder to the window one is for a less experienced member and one for a more experienced member . What are they ?
More experienced .. Accuracy will be obtained by sighting along the ladder rail of the top section
Less experienced .. Accuracy will e obtained by sighting along the underside of the beam on the top sliding section
Recommend distance of the tip of ladder from objective ?
2” to 6”
In case of rescue 2”
Extreme angle .ladder barely touching

If there are no people showing upon arrival and the building in question is 30’ or less . Where should the aerial be placed ?

When rescuing off an aerial ladder the ovm will ascend ladder first followed by the LCC after he climbs in window he will close the door to the fire area and then come back to assist the victim onto the ladder . Agree or disagree
