Adverse Conditions Flashcards
Engine-Ice must be turned ON during all ground and flight operations in icing conditions. The definition of icing is:
OAT (on the ground and for takeoff) or TAT (inflight) is less than or equal to 10° C, and
visible moisture.
Operating on ramps, taxiways or runways where snow, ice standing water/slush, etc., may be injested in to the engines.
When using the ALL HOT App, why is the cabin pressurization confirmed in the “AUTO” position?
To automatically close all external valves when the DITCHING pushbuttong is selected “ON” in step 8.
* Outflow valve
* emergency RAM air inlet
* Avionics Ventilation inlet and extract valves
* Pack Flow Control vavles
* Forward Cargo Isolation Outlet Valve
True or False
Engine anti-ice must be on prior to and during descent in icing conditions, including temperatures below -40°C SAT?
True

Upon the completion of the HOT App checklist, and re-accomplishing the After Start Flow and Checklist, hwne should the flaps be set for takeoff?
Approximately 5 minutes before takeoff because holdover times decrease once slats and flaps are extended (curved surfaces lose fluid effectivenes at a faster rate.)
Engine run-ups must be accomplished when the OAT is at or below __°C
3°C OAT
