What is considered “unstable” in regard to adult wide complex tachycardia?
Hypotension, AMS, shock, acute heart failure, ischemic chest pain
What is the loading dose of amiodarone for adult, unstable, wide complex tachycardia?
150 mg amiodarone/10 minutes
What is the maintenance dose of amiodarone for adult, unstable, wide complex tachycardia? What determines use of maintenance dose?
1 mg/min; in order to use maintenance dose, the loading dose MUST have converted the tachycardia
What is the Tx for “unstable” in adult wide complex tachycardia?
Synchronized cardioversion: 100J , 120J, 150J, 200J (stepwise)
What is the sedation medication for “unstable” in adult wide complex tachycardia cardioversion?
Versed 0.05 mg/kg IV/IO/IN;
Ketamine 1 mg/kg IV/IO/IN
