Check that it is safe to approach the patient and don universal precautions

Assess responsiveness and signs of life

Call for help

Check the patients pulse and then start compressions - make sure the compressions are appropriate

Give ventilations
Step 6
Use the monitor correctly. Switch on the monitor while doing the CRP
Step 7
Identify the current rhythm
Step 8
Put on gel and do the correct and safe defibrillation
Step 9
Immediately resume compressions and do a rhythm assessment every 2 minutes
Step 10
IV line insertion and placement of the leads on the manikin
Step 11
Start looking for the Hs and Ts
Hypoxia, hyperkalaemia, hypokalamia, hydrogen excess, hypoglycaemia, hypovolaemia, hypothermia, trauma, tamponade, tension pneumothorax, toxins, thromboembolism and thrombus
