- Adults (Non-growing anymore)
- Growth modifications NOT possible (accept skeletal discrepancy OR surgery)
- Overbite correction more difficult

whats the issue of periodontal tissues in adults in regards to receiving ortho tx at an older age?
- more likely to have perio disease & loss of attachment
- Careful perio assessment needed
- Active perio disease MUST be managed before ortho starts
- Loss of tooth support = tooth movement & anchorage reducing
what are PHYSIOLOGICAL factors of adult ortho?
- DECREASED cell turnover, initial movement can be SLOWER
- use LIGHTER forces
What adult motivation factors would affect ortho tx?
- often they are VERY WELL MOTIVATED - since they understand
