Answer 1

Glucose 15g Oral
- Repeat 15/60 if inadequate response
If inadequate response to 2 doses treat as unsuitable for oral intake

Question 2

What is the Mx for Hypoglycaemic patient not suitable for oral intake?

Answer 2

Adult
- Dextrose 10% 15g (150mL) IV
- If inadequate response after 10/60 repeat dextrose 10% 10g (100mL)
- If unable to gain IV access Glucagon 1 IU IM

Question 3

What is the Mx for a Paediatric Hypoglycaemic patient not suitable for oral intake

Answer 3

<25kg Glucagon 0.5IU IM
>= 25kg Glucagon 1IU IM
