What are the indications for CAT
A
Life threatening limb haemorrhage, unable to be controlled by direct pressure

What are the contraindications for CAT
A
Bleeding that can be controlled using basic first aid measures

What are the precautions for CAT
A
- Do not apply over a wound or joint
- Correct application of the tourniquet may cause significant pain
+ Ensures effective pain relief - Incorrect application or inadequate tightening may increase the amount of bleeding if only controlling venous bleeding

A
- Uncontrolled haemorrhage from a non-compressible wound site
- Unable to control haemorrhage by using direct pressure or CAT
