Observe
Risk factors for asystole in bradycardia
Recent asystole
Mobitz Type II AV block
Complete heart block with broad QRS
Ventricular pause > 3s
Management of non life threatening bradycardia with risk of asystole
- Atropine 500mcg IV
- Repeat Atropine 500mcg IV up to max 3mg
- Isoprenalin 5mcg IV min
- Adrenaline 2-10mcg IV min
- Alternative drugs (Aminophylline/Dopamine/Glucagon/Glycopyrrolate)
Or transcutaneous pacing
- Seek expert advice
- Arrange transvenous pacing
Management of life threatening bradycardia
- Atropine 500mcg IV
- Repeat Atropine 500mcg IV up to max 3mg
