- A1 and A2 blocker
- Treats hypertension caused by pheochromocytoma
- Used to reverse local anesthesia with vasoconstrictor

- A1 blocker
- Treatment of enlarged prostate gland
- SE: nasal congestion, headache, ortho hypotension

Propanolol
A
- B1 and B2 blocker
- Penetrates BBB and treats migraines
- SE: bronchoconstriction
(not good for ppl w/ COPD, asthma)

Metoprolol
A
- B1 blocker (blocking B2 = bronchoconstriction)
- Treats high BP, chest pain, arrhythmia, heart attack
- SE: hypotension, dizziness, increase [glucose] and [lipid]

Carvedilol
A
- Non-selective B antagonist

Nebivolol
A
- B1 blocker
- Increases NO levels (to dilate blood v.v.)

Carvedilol and Nebivolol advantage?
A
- There isn’t increase in [glucose] and [lipid], so it’s diabetic friendly.
- Have antioxidant properties which is good for treating heart failure
- More effective at treating hypertension
