Etiology of Cushing’s
A
- iatrogenic: steroid therapy (MC cause)
- central: pituitary adenoma
- adrenal: adrenal adenoma or hyperplasia or malignancy
- ectopic source: malignancy

- mood changes (depression, euphoria)
- easy bruising
- weakness
- weight gain
- menstrual changes
- back pain

- truncal obesity, moon facies, buffalo hump
- HTN

- hirsutism
- wide purple abdominal striae
- osteoporosis

- low dose dexamethasone suppression test
- CT or MRI down sella turcica to check for pituitary adenoma
- CT abdomen for adrenal tumor

- gigantism in youth, acromegaly in adults
- increased mortality over general population
