Cushings MCC?
75% Endogenous (hyperplasia/hyperfunctioning tumors of the adrenal cortex), Exogenous (Cortisol medication), adrenal adenoma/carcinoma, neuroblastoma, pituitary neoplasm, ectopic tumors
MC person in cushings?
20-60yo women
Cushings s/sx?
easily bruise/purpura, menstural sx, obesity, weakness, emotional disturbance, backache, moon face, bufffalo hump, hypertension, abdominal/axillary purple striae. Children: short
Cushings labs?
Leukocytosis, reduced glucose tolerance, enlarged renal glands and renal calculi (15-20%), hypercalciuria
Cushings radiographic findings?
Osteoporosis, osteonecrosis
Addisons sx?
Related to reduced aldosterone and cortisol.. weak, hypotension, hyperpigmentation, acidosis, etc…
May have migratory myalgias, back pain, and sciatica.
Addisons radiographically?
Calcification of the adrenals, external ear, periarticular, and costal cartilages. Skeletal maturation may be delayed.
